Dr Tony Bleetman

MD PhD FRCSEd FRCEM DipIMC RCSEd

Dr Bleetman has over 28 years' experience as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, including as a Consultant Trauma Team Leader at St Mary's Hospital Major Trauma Centre and 12 years with Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), including three years as Clinical Director. He currently serves as a medical advisor to the Ministry of Defence and works in NHS Emergency Departments and as an Attending Emergency Physician in the Middle East.

Consultant in Emergency Medicine for 10 years at The Royal London Hospital, with clinical interests in major trauma, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and infectious emergencies. Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London and Clinical Lead at NHS England for Integrated Urgent and Emergency Care.

Paediatric Lead, Director & Company Secretary

Consultant in Emergency Medicine for 8 years and graduate of University College London, working as a Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at Whipps Cross University Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. Lead for Medical Simulation Education and site Principal Investigator for clinical research in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.

Dr Derek Hicks

Consultant in Emergency Medicine for 15 years and graduate of Guy's & St Thomas's Hospitals, London. Consultant in Emergency Medicine at The Royal London Hospital with 10 years' experience in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine, working with HEMS teams across Kent, Surrey & Sussex and Essex & Herts. Clinical interests include major trauma, telemedicine and resuscitation.

Tim retired from active military duty in December 2024 after 41 years of commissioned service. He is Colonel Commandant of the Royal Army Medical Service, a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of West Midlands, an Associate Fellow at Chatham House, and Honorary Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Warwick and the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade. He has authored 37 books and received numerous national and international honours for his contribution to military and emergency medicine.

Adrian Connolly

Director

Adrian is an experienced Hospital Director with a track record in the hospital and healthcare industry, including as Hospital Director at Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital until 2025, and previously at Ramsay Health Care and Spire Healthcare. He launched ISEM's peri-operative care programme at the Nuffield at St Bartholomew's Hospital.

Professor Ian Maconochie

Strategic Paediatric Advisor & Director

Professor Maconochie is a Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at St Mary's Hospital, where he established the department in 2000, and Professor of Practice in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at Imperial College London since 2018 — the first such post in the UK. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed papers and is a long-standing member of the Resuscitation Council UK, having held leadership roles with the European Resuscitation Council and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
